Bhimsen Park - Gorkha
This the historical place of Nepal. This place carries very important and very beginning history of Nepal. Every person all over the world who knows some about Nepal they must know about our National hero Prithivi Narayan Shah. Then they must know Prithivi Narayan Shah was from Gorkha. This place is located just behind Gorkha Durbar. This is the born place of our National hero Mukhtiyar Bhimsen Thapa. This is a monument park. This is Pipal Thok village of Gorkha district of Nepal.

Bhimsen Thapa (Bron August 1775 – Died 29 July 1839, aged 63) is Sri Mukhtiyar General (Equivalent to Prime minister ). He had very longest service tenure from 1806 to 1837 as Prime Minister of Nepal. He was also Pradhan Senapati (Chief General) & Commander-In-Chief of the Nepalese Army. He served from 1811 to 1837 AD as Chief General. He was son of Mother Satyarupa Maya & Father Sanukaji General Amar Singh Thapa. His grandfather was Birabhadra Thapa. His family was serving to Nation as military.

We all knows that original Dharahara of Kathmandu was built by Bhimsen Thapa. We also called Bhimsen Stambha to Dharahara. Here is the older picture of Dharahara.

Dharahara was built in 1824 with 11 storeys and had 225 feet tall after massive earthquake of 1993 reduced two storeys. So that we used to call it Nautale Dharahara. He also built so many historical structures in Nepal like Bag Durbar, Thapathali Bridge, Chhauni Musium etc. He also built Rana Mukteshwar Temple on the deathspot of Rana Bahadur Shah.

In the Bhimsen Park
As i already mentioned historical introduction of Bhimsen Thapa. This park is his monument constructed park. Thanks to kind heart people who helped to build this. I personally think every national heroes will be remembered always.
In the park there is large statue of Mukhtiyar Bhimsen Thapa with large two national Flag. On the base of statue there are mention of helping hands and short introduction to Bhimsen Thapa. There is clean beautiful garden with bench to sit and take a photos. Swings, Toilet, sitting areas etc.
Transportation
If you are interested to visit this place. Transportation is very easy to access there. Lets break out from Kathmandu, You can catch a bus or micro form Gongabu Buspark. For hiace you can get from in front of Lotse Mall Kathmandu. Fare rates are around Rs. 600 to 1000. Rates are subjected to season. After travel of 4-5 hours you will reach Gorkha buspark. Distance of Kathmandu to Gorkha is 144 km.
From here you have to hire taxi to Bhimsen park. Taxi charges is Rs. 500 to 700. Road is narrow and uphill but all the road is pitched. Actually way is also towards Gorkha Durbar (House of Prithivi Narayan Shah). From buspark way is going through Thuloaagan, Satipipal, Brindaban, Gorkha Durbar, Chisopani Dhara, Hattiya (Dadagaun) & Bhimsen park. You can also visit Gorkha Durbar. We have to cross Durbar to reach Bhimsen park.

From top of Hill we can see very beautiful scenery view. We can see Lamjung, Tanahun & Dhading District. We can spot Ligligkot and Large National flag of Ligligkot from here.

My personal experience on this trip is always beautiful. In fact this is my own home district. I am not from here but I am also from Gorkha. Definitely i will always love my Country my home town.
Here to be honest if also I am not from Gorkha. I will love Gorkha. While visiting Gorkha we can discover history ourself. We can see all the evidence by our own eyes. Automatically hikes loves towards our Nation Nepal.
At the top there are few local kirana ( Grocery ) shop. If you haven’t took meal best to have at below Gorkha Durbar to Gorkha Bazar. There is Chautari cafe also on the way. This cafe is famous there. They offer some beautiful garden, photo spots & large swing.
